True Spec Golf + ASU Men’s Golf: Partnership Media Day | Scottsdale Golf Photographer
When True Spec Golf needed a Scottsdale golf photographer for its ASU men’s golf media day, the call came to Everardo Keeme of Photo Fusion Studio. The partnership announcement ran on September 1, 2026, and the photographs from that day ran with it.
I am Everardo Keeme, owner and lead photographer of Photo Fusion Studio, and I have spent most of the last two decades with a camera on a golf course. You cant contact me below.
The Assignment
True Spec Golf, headquartered in Scottsdale and part of 8AM Golf, became the club fitting partner of the ASU men’s golf program for the 2026-2027 season. They brought the team into their flagship fitting studio for a media day ahead of the announcement and hired me to document it. The full release covers the terms of the deal.
The photography had to exist before the news did. Media day was August 25. The announcement ran September 1. Once a release date is locked with a PR agency and an athletic department, the images either ship on time or the story runs without them.
Why Golf Work Lands Here
This was not a first golf assignment. From 2010 to 2020 I was the Official Photographer of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the largest attended tournament in the world. Since then the work has included Troon Golf, the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, the Southwest PGA, collegiate programs, and equipment brands where the product itself is the subject. More of that is on the professional golf photographer page.
A lot of it happens in Scottsdale. Troon Golf’s offices, Desert Mountain, and now True Spec’s flagship. There is enough of it that Scottsdale golf photographer is a fair description of half the job.
I am also the photographer for Tori Totlis and Compete Confidence Golf, covering nearly all of her events. That includes all five years of the Desert Classic at Papago Golf Course and her retreats in Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and Banff.
Media Day at the Scottsdale Flagship
Each player went through an individual fitting focused on a single club they wanted to improve. A video team worked in parallel on promo footage and interviews, and Coach Thurmond sat for interviews in a few different spots around the building.
My job was everything around all of it. Players with the fitters. The video crew working. The coach mid-interview. And the parts nobody schedules: players talking between sessions, a fitter walking someone through a number on the monitor, a coach watching from the back of a bay. That is usually where the images a brand ends up using come from.
Fittings, filming, and interviews all running at the same time in one building, and nobody in it has a minute to stop and pose for you. You either read a room like that or you miss it. Same problem as a tournament, smaller space.
The Published Result
The announcement ran through The First Call on September 1, 2026. Three images from media day were published with it, each credited:

The partnership page at truespecgolf.com/tsg-asu went live the same day.
Fitting and building happen under one roof.
A hitting bay converted into an interview set.
Waiting room, Sun Devil edition.
The sign on the wall is not subtle. It is also not wrong.
Each player sat down for a short interview between sessions.
Where the day started – True Spec’s flagship studio on North Scottsdale Road.
Three fitting bays, and a gallery of teammates in every one of them.
Lining up a wedge in front of the True Spec mark.
Down on the mat, working a low-angle portrait.
Head coach Matt Thurmond talks with local media in front of the shaft wall.
The Sun Devils lineup, forks up, at the end of a full day of fittings at True Spec Scottsdale.
The floor at True Spec Scottsdale, the brand’s flagship studio: lounge, shaft wall and build bench in one room.
Introductions first. Every fitting starts with a conversation about the player’s game.
The True Spec crew ran the whole roster through in a single afternoon.
Downtime between sessions, with the launch monitor still glowing behind them.
Custom True Spec Golf headcovers, made for the Sun Devils.
Local media turned out for the day – players stepped off the mat and straight into interviews.
Every swing is captured twice: on the simulator screen and in the fitter’s data window.
Shaft after shaft, head after head, until the numbers agree with the eye test.
The fitter reads the data live and changes one variable at a time.
Ball speed, spin, launch – all of it lands on screen before the ball stops rolling.
Not every part of the day is about the numbers.
The swing blurs. The Sparky headcover does not.
Co-branded down to the glove.
The best fittings sound more like a conversation than a lab test.
Eight players, one afternoon, a lot of trash talk.
Sparky, in leather, on a cover made for this team.
A full swing, rendered as one continuous motion.
The Sun Devil cover up front, a fitting under way behind it.
Through impact, against the True Spec mark.
Ball speed, spin rate, launch angle – the fitter translates the screen into a decision.
Putter fitting gets its own room at True Spec Scottsdale, and its own green.
A True Spec glove and a Sun Devil cover, waiting on the next session.
Over 70,000 head and shaft combinations, brand-agnostic. A fitting is a matrix, not a menu.
Matt Thurmond stayed out on the floor with his players all afternoon.
Ball level, right as the club arrives.
Between takes on the interview set.
The swing, seen as motion instead of a moment.
Thurmond again, this time for social – the day fed every channel at once.
Numbers on the screen, handshake at the end.
Iron fitting, seen from behind the bag.
An entire swing held in a single frame.
Balanced finish, ball long gone.
The numbers don’t argue.
Photo and video ran side by side all day.
Next build, next set of numbers.
Two minutes of setup for every minute on camera.
Shafts in hand, headed back to the bay.
